El taller, este espacio tan personal, dialoga de una manera compleja con el ser del artista. Demanda su presencia y sobre todo su continua reflexión; es aquí donde la materia y el artífice, bailan al unísono aflorando finalmente la obra, un acto de acción, conocimiento y reconocimiento generado por el entorno y el pensamiento creativo. Crear un vínculo es fundamental, su expresión gira en torno al hombre; el paisaje, la memoria, lo intangible o cualquier otro tema que le problematice y active el pensamiento filosófico. El taller es un ente viviente, respira y palpita dentro y fuera del artista, es por eso que al encontrarse frente a un igual, genera una fiesta que abre para ambos, un nutrido campo de actividad y reflexión.
En medio de múltiples pensamientos en mi propio taller, sentí la inquietud de avanzar en otro nivel. Surgió la necesidad de interactuar con otro artistas para así seguir dando paso al pensamiento y acción que demanda la obra. Viviendo y entendiendo los eventos que a nivel mundial se presentan antes nosotros -tan inverosímiles que parecen casi ficticios- surgió la iniciativa de unir talleres de manera digital, trabajar juntos y brindar la oportunidad de intervenir una propuesta plástica, y ser intervenidos a su vez. Mario Benedetti en uno de sus poemas escribe; “que una tarde te acerques y te mires, te mires al mirarme .” Esa frase describe una de las bondades arrojadas por este ejercicio pues, aunque en un inicio cada dupla de artistas fue relacionada desde las diferencias estéticas presentes en sus obras, resulto que cada uno encontró parte de sí mismo en el otro, permitiendo un reconocimiento innato de la plástica. Cada uno se sintió a gusto con la idea de abrirse ante un ojo más cercano, un igual que le comprende en su ser complejo e introspectivo.
Expuse la idea a cada amigo y no tardaron en empatizar con esa necesidad demandante del hacer artístico, concatenar y continuar nuestro pensamiento y diálogo, así fuese a distancia.
Durante el proceso de vincularnos unos a otros, se hizo tangible la camaradería y dialogo reflexivo que se gesta cuando el arte se hace presente. Como alumnos nos sentamos a escuchar y ver con atención el lenguaje, discurso y expresión plástica de nuestro compañero para, de modo particular, entenderla y traerla al terreno propio uniendo ambas visiones en una sola.
Emails, whatsapp, videollamadas, notas de voz y DM., y de madrugada, fueron los caminos elegidos para dar inicio y desarrollo a la comprensión y adaptación de imágenes, bocetos y escritos que luego serían intervenidos de manera libre; siempre y cuando fuesen adecuados al formato 2.0. Cada pareja halló la forma de estrechar manos y alimentar no la individualidad, en la que el artista crea su universo personal ante la obra, sino el común reconectar con el otro. Dejar que la plástica y el lenguaje hablasen libremente sentados a la mesa, evidenciando el hacer del otro más que el propio. El acercamiento logró despertar el interés de relación y unión en un momento altamente provechoso y sobre todo necesario para el artista y el taller.
Las experiencias individuales de Doce Artistas, se ven reflejadas en cada una de las piezas hechas, en su diversidad, narran el tiempo condensado que logró el enfoque y dedicación de cada dupla. Un formato que nos permitió encontrar y ampliar ideas que trabajando en conjunto, cuatro manos, nos hizo dar vuelta a la comunión y complicidad silenciosa existente entre artistas, los límites desaparecieron, tal como suele ocurrir siempre ante la presencia del arte.
Un encuentro afortunado y gratificante, en el que ganamos como grupo, como individuos y como artistas.

Artistic laboratory in 2.0
The artist's studio, this very personal space, engages in a complex way with the artist's being. He or she demands its presence and the on going reflection; it is there where the material and the artist dance in unison, bringing out the work, a result of the action, knowledge, and recognition generated by the environment and creative thinking. Creating a bond is essential, its expression revolves around man; landscapes, memories, the intangible things or any other subject problematizes and activates philosophical thought. The artist's studio is a living entity, it breathes and throbs inside and outside the artist, that is why when facing a peer, a celebration occurs opening for both of them a large field of activity and reflection.
In the midst of multiple thoughts in my own studio, I felt the uneasiness to go to another level. I had the need to interact with other artists to continue to stimulate the thinking process and the action that the work demands. Living and understanding the events that are presented before us worldwide - so unreal that they seem almost fictitious – the initiative arose as a way to link our different studios, working together and providing the opportunity to create and intervene a visual art piece,and be intervened in return. Mario Benedetti writes in one of his poems; “That one afternoon you come closer and look at yourself, look at yourself when looking at me.” That phrase describes one of the benefits of this exercise because, although at first each pair of artists was related from the aesthetic differences presented in their work, it turned out that each one found a part of himself in the other, allowing an innate recognition of the way to approach the visual arts. Each one was comfortable with the idea of opening up to a closer eye, an equal that understands him in his complex and introspective being.
I presented the idea to each friend and they soon empathized with this demanding need to do art, concatenate and continue our thinking and dialogue, even at a distance.
During the process of connecting with each other, the camaraderie and the reflective dialogue that arises when art is present became tangible. As students, we sit down to listen and see with detail the discourse,statement, and visual expression of our partner in order to understand it and bring it to our own land, joining both visions in one image.
Emails, WhatsApp chats, video calls, voice memos, and DM - even at dawn- were the paths chosen to develop the interaction of images, sketches, and ideas that would later be freely intervened; as long as they are suitable for the 2.0 format. Each couple found a way to shake hands and nurture not individuality, in which the artist creates his personal universe before the work, but the common ground with the partner. We let the visual language to speak freely showcasing the language of our partner more than our own. The approach managed to awaken the interest of connectivity and union in a highly profitable moment and above all necessary for the artist and the studio.
The individual experiences of Twelve Artists, are reflected in each of the pieces; in their diversity, they show the condensed time that the focus and dedication of each pair achieved. This format allowed us to find and expand ideas working together, by four hands, it encourages us to pay attention to the communion and silent complicity between artists. The boundaries disappeared, as it always happens in the presence of art.
A lucky and rewarding meeting, in which we won as a group, as individuals, and as artists.
